Nuestro centro comunitario est\u00e1 ubicado donde antes se conoc\u00eda como el rancho San Ysidro. Ubicada en el Este de Gilroy, poblada en su mayor\u00eda por familias hispanas de bajos ingresos donde la tasa de colesterol, diabetes y algunas otras enfermedades es muy alta.<\/span><\/p>

El centro estaba abandonado, y una persona que trabajaba para la ciudad me ofreci\u00f3 el centro, para tratar de iniciar una transformaci\u00f3n de ese centro comunitario. Decid\u00ed aceptar el reto, y junto a otras personas como la Sra. Edit L\u00f3pez y Alvino L\u00f3pez, comenzamos la creaci\u00f3n de talleres apoyados por miembros de la comunidad que se ofrecieron como voluntarios. Creando talleres como costura, zumba, clases de guitarra, juegos de mesa, f\u00fatbol, \u200b\u200bvoleibol, tutor\u00edas, entre otros.<\/span><\/p>

Very quickly, our Nueva Vida Community gained fame and became very attractive to families. Especially those in the Gilroy area, we now have a wide variety of workshops and activities for families who not only live in Gilroy but also in nearby cities. Getting our volunteer organizing committee to grow.<\/span><\/p>

The most important characteristic of Nueva Vida Community is the importance of the voice of each member of our community in decision-making for the projects or programs of our community center.<\/span><\/p>

Algunas asociaciones muy importantes para nosotros son la Ciudad de Gilroy, (Departamento de Recreaci\u00f3n de Gilroy), el Departamento de Polic\u00eda y organizaciones locales. Y hasta el d\u00eda de hoy en el a\u00f1o 2022 seguimos potenciando la voz de la comunidad.
